| This land is private so it may not be open for casual collecting. Here is the information that is found from the BLM website: "Texas Spring Canyon Petrified wood. 25 miles north of Wells, Nevada on Highway 93. Turn east at Wilkins. Petrified wood is found in multicolored hills on north side of Texas Springs Canyon about 25 miles northeast of Wilkins. Private land at Texas Springs." Here is Google Earth's directions from Wells, NV to Texas Spring Canyon, NV: Turn left at State Hwy 13/93 N. Head southeast on 6th St toward Clover Ave. Continue straight onto Co Route 765/Wilkins-Montello Rd. Turn right toward Co Route 765/Wilkins-Montello Rd. Turn left to stay on Co Route 765/Wilkins-Montello Rd. Destination will be on the left. The GPS locations below are for Texas Spring Canyon, they should be pretty accurate. |
