On page 100 in the Gem Minerals of Idaho book by John Beckwith, it says a few miles northwest of McCall, Idaho in the Rocky Flat area you can find placer deposits of quartz crystals, spinel, and broken corundum in the creek.	Here are the directions on findarock.com: "4.4 miles North West of McCall on Highway 55 take the road to Brundage Ski Area about 1/2 mile." The GPS coordinates are marked as approximate because I didn't know where to follow the 1/2 mile part to the Brundage Ski Area.
