This is a fee-pay site which is a mine and a campground.  Here you can find the famous Herkimer diamond (small quartz crystals of superb quality).  You can a shovel, hammer, or chisel or just sift through the dirt.  It is open from April 15th to October 15th in the daytime for a small fee.  For more information visit their website:
