According to the reference listed below, you can find agate, chalcedony, chert, and jasper in the gravel beds of the Big Blue River "extending beyond county boundaries, all its tributaries, and on all surrounding hillsides and in washes."  It would be good to have some comment below and verify the material found in this location.
