RARE AMETHYST W/ LEPIDOCHROSITE INCLUSION JONESVILLE SC

Description:  THIS IS A RARE CABINET SIZE AMETHYST CLUSTER WITH RED DROPS OF LEPIDOCHROSITE TRAPPED EVERYWHERE INSIDE. FOUND ON A PRIVATE FARM IN JONESVILLE, SOUTH CAROLINA DECADES AGO. THIS CRYSTAL HAS MULTIPLE TERMINATIONS AND LARGE NATURAL FACETS. MOST OF THE SMALL RED DROPS FOLLOW THE FACETS EDGES AND A LARGE GROUP OF THEM GATHERED NEAR THE LARGE TERMINATION. IT HAS A POWDERY SUBSTANCE THAT NEEDS TO BE CLEANED OFF. CHECK OUT THE COLOR WHEN YOU HOLD IT UP TO THE LIGHT. SPECIMEN MEASURES 4" X 2" AND WEIGHS OVER 740 CARATS. THIS IS THE LARGEST PIECE FROM THIS LOCALE THAT WE HAVE. THESE SPECIMENS ARE PART OF AN OLD COLLECTION THAT WE ARE SELLING. THE ORIGINAL COLLECTOR AQUIRED ALL OF THE SPECIMENS BETWEEN 1930-1990. ALMOST ALL OF THE MINES ARE NOW CLOSED OR DEVELOPED. WE HAVE FOUND INFERIOR SPECIMENS FROM THESE OLD FAMOUS LOCALES, SELLING FOR HUNDREDS ON EBAY AND OTHER WEBSITES
