Gold/Silver Ore/Fluorite Large Cabinet Specimen from Colorado
This specimen is not for sale, and was archived from an external source for the purpose of preserving and sharing its geologic, geographic, and collector value.
Description:  This is a beautiful cabinet specimen of Cripple Creek, Colorado gold/Silver ore. This one is a little under half a pound and has beautiful features. This type of ore is an indicator mineral and if you are on this in a vein you are on gold. So many of these specimens were simply discarded in the early mining days and now refining techniques have been improved so much that the old tailings are being processed destroying collectable pieces like this.

This one has druzy quartz geodlike vugs with some having a red/burgandy color with micro-crystaline Fluorite, Spiney, Acicular Aragonite with an iron oxide secondary coating and Chalcedony. It has tiny sparkles I know of being pyrite but may have some Sylvanite from the darker bands throughout but needs further assaying for values content. I'm not selling this as Sylvanite or Calaverite but if a buyer has the ability to confirm it's content I will send few bonus pieces for their time. This one is really exceptional and could be cut and polished from the high silica structure and is very stable. A previous buyer tells me it has a nice fluorescence in UV light.

It has a deep purple color especially when wet, sits well on it's own in different ways and makes a great addition to any gold ore collection coming from a location with incredible mining history and highly valued mineral specimens.
