27lb Elestial Smokey Amethyst Quartz Point Diamond Hill
This specimen is not for sale, and was archived from an external source for the purpose of preserving and sharing its geologic, geographic, and collector value.
Description:  *Smokey Amethyst Point* Weight= 27 lbs(approx.) Age: Over 4OO Million Years Old 11" x 9" x 7" This is a HUGE Double Terminated Elestial Smokey Amethyst point! This is one of the biggest points to come out of this locality! It has a tiny bit of matrix that an amethyst crystal also grew onto and attached itself to this massive point. It originally formed as a single point and at one point or another formed into an elestial point with many terminations including a double termination! May have tiny enhdros, none that I can see though, although there looks to be obvious liquid chambers which were common on some of the bigger points out of this particular pocket. The bottom of piece has a little matrix but has partially been rehealed. Some of the tips do have minor chip damage and there is some contact damage near the bottom, but doesnt take away from the shear size, shine, and color this piece has! It is from Diamond Hill in South Carolina! All shipping is done with the best of care. I take offers on most store items! Check out my other items! DIAMOND HILL PROSPECT As seen in Jan/Feb 2009 Issue of Rock & Minerals May 2006 Issue of Rock & Gem Diamond Hill is located in upper part of South Carolina. Over millions of years, erosion has occured to the southern part of the Appalachian Mountains. This has exposed a small 3 acre spot full of some of the widest variety quartz crystals in the world, known as Diamond Hill! Some of the best Amethyst, Smokey, Skeletal(Elestial), Angle Plated, Iron Oxide & Manganese coated, Aura, and other crystals are found here! Other rare minerals have also been recovered! Since this is such a small area(3 acres), there is only a very limited supply of material left! Add a piece to your collection today!
