Location Type: Public Access
Details: For details go to the Travel Channel's treasure wiki page for Washington. It says: "General description: Jade and Travertine can be found wading in the stream.

Handy to bring along: 1. Bucket 2. Rock hammer 3. Wading shoes

Helpful notes to newcomers Deer Creek Campground is positioned in an area with a number of great attractions.Wallace Falls State Park is too great to leave out of a trip to Deer Creek. Not to be confused with Deer Creek, Oso, the premier site for jade...but there are no camp grounds there or any other attractions for that matter. Even access is difficult at Oso."
Directions: For directions go to the Travel Channel's treasure wiki page for Washington. It says: "GPS coordinates: Latitude 48.084 and Longitude -121.5554"

Thanks, Jade Junkee, for coming back.  I think my changes are correct now.  I didn't have it set up for emailing you when I made my comment before so hopefully it will work this time.

Sorry...I forgot to check back....In the national directories (On the WIKI) there are two pages for Washington State...each has a Deer Creek noted in the listings.  The map here is the one on the first page....Deer Creek OSO is on the second page "More sites in washington", for which this map is not of. You will need to delete any reference to Oso on this listing and then create a separate one for Deer Creek OSO.  your map should just indicate where oso is...as that is pretty much the collecting area.

Sorry I was still confused about which deer creek is which so I haven't changed any information yet.

JadeJunkee - Dec 10, 2009 07:25:21 PM EST
Wrong Deer Creek :-) there are two deer creeks noted for jade. the map notes one, but is not the Oso locality. Information on the oso locality is found here: http://cash-and-treasures-wiki.travelchannel.com/page/More+Sites+in+Washington ~Zeke JadeJunkee
