Details: The quarry was mined around 40 years ago for Felspar, Mica and Beryl. Huge non gemmy Beryl was mined for shell caseings for the military. Nearby ledges yield Dravite Tourmaline crystals and masses. It is now a state park and collecting is allowed by permit only as most state land is.
