Details:
I assume that the pay-to-mine aspect has gone away after gold prices shot up. Currently as of 1/22/21 it is for sale. Check their website: "http://moorecreekcamp.com/pay-to-mine/" for more info.
Originally I found this from http://cashandtreasures.wikifoundry.com/page/Alaska, "This historic gold mine still produces some big nuggets for those who
visit. Its a private property, but they allow visitors for a fee.
Visitors keep all the gold they find.
Handy to bring along:
1. Metal Detector
2. Your own camping gear
3. The mine provides all food and other mining equipment."

A blog about this location is here: http://nevada-outback-gems.com/prospect/Alaskan_adventure/Alaskan_adventure.htm
Directions: From the wiki site: "How to get there: You have to fly from Anchorage to Mc Grath, then via bush pilot by plane to the Moore Creek Mine. This beautiful remote part of Alaska, with no roads, is quite an adventure."
